Synopsis
Keywords: Physics & Engineering: Low-field MRI
The talk will present a perspective on the impacts of low-field MRI on future healthcare, including new clinical applications with new tissue contrasts, patient comfort, and friendliness to implants, and potential transformation of the clinical routines, reshape of the allocations of healthcare resources, and the democratization of MRI.
Abstract
Low-field MRI systems are poised to transform healthcare by offering cost-effective, accessible imaging solutions with exciting clinical potential. It enhances imaging opportunities. For example, it offers new tissue contacts, patient's comfort, and is friendly to patients with implants. It offers portability, with which MRI can be taken to a patient's bedside or installed in an ambulance. It is less expensive thus it can lead to the democratization of MRI, i.e., more counties and regions may have it. It can help to decentralize MRI scans in a hospital, it will transform clinical routines and reshape the allocation of healthcare resources.Acknowledgements
