A National Guideline in Denmark is lacking, and no explicit MR safety training curriculum has beendemanded by Danish law. Therefore, a journey started in 2019 where an MR safety conferencewas arranged at the Danish parliament, to attract the politician’s attention. The conference wasarranged by the Danish society of Radiographers (Radiograf Rådet) in collaboration with AnneDorte Blankholm. The conference seemed to be a success but due to Parliament elections and theCovid pandemic nothing happened. ADB contacted the head of the Danish Society ofRadiographers, and they took the initiative to collaborate with the radiologists- and physicistorganization’s and with the Danish Society for Magnetic resonance imaging in medicine (DSMMR).A steering committee was formed and later a writing committee that consisted of members fromall the societies involved. The process of creation a national MR safety guideline began. Theguideline is expected this summer (2023).On the initiative from ADB basic and advanced E-learning modules has been created and mademandatory is some hospitals in Denmark.A Magnetic Resonance Safety Officer (MRSO) Role Descriptor: An European QualificationsFramework (EQF) benchmarking document was created and published by the European Federationof Radiographers Societies (EFRS) in 2021 also with involvement of radiographers fromScandinavia (Titti Owman and Anne Dorte Blankholm). Currently, Scandinavian radiographers areheavily involved in MR safety work and working groups in EFRS (TO and ADB) and EuropeanSociety of Radiologists (ESR)(ADB).It is very rewarding to experience how hard work and taking initiatives trough network andcontacts can give results that is beneficial for both patient safety and safety for us as MRpersonnel.
