Difference between radiation necrosis and new tumor growth can be difficult to interpret with conventional MR imaging techniques

Objectives

Difference between radiation necrosis and new tumor growth can be difficult to interpret with conventional MR imaging techniques
Advanced MR sequences such as MRS, ASL, DCE, and DSC have proven to help radiologist confidently dictate new tumor growth vs radiation necrosis.
Review of imaging & discussion of parameters will be demonstrated in this lecture.
Assist Radiation Oncologist, NeuroSurgeons and NeuroRadiologist to determine needs for the patient as in treatment, surgical resection, or continuation of being monitored by imaging.
