In this talk I will discuss some of the potential, pitfalls and interpretations of proton functional spectroscopy, or fMRS, for short. I will attempt to provide a broad overview of the field, and, in particular, point out similarities and differences relative to fMRI, and where fMRS might provide added insight to BOLD-fMRI.
