Synopsis

Keywords: Contrast mechanisms: Relaxometry

This talk will discuss the molecular mechanisms that underpin paramagnetic nuclear magnetic relaxation, and how these principles can be applied to more potent MRI contrast agents and biochemically specific probes for molecular MR imaging. An understanding of T1 and T2 relaxation, and how these properties relate to MRI contrast, is assumed.
