Synopsis

Keywords: Image acquisition: Fast imaging, Musculoskeletal: Joints

Dynamic/Real-time MRI of musculoskeletal tissue is benefitting from a number of recent advances in MRI technology, including hardware improvements, and innovations in image acquisition, reconstruction, and post-processing methods. At the end of this presentation, attendees will be able to:

1. Identify clinical indications of dynamic/real-time MRI in the management of musculoskeletal disorders with regard to the demand for spatiotemporal resolution, contrast and image quality;

2. Understand key strengths and limitations of current dynamic/real-time MRI methods for assessing musculoskeletal tissues; and

3. Describe state-of-the-art and novel MRI methods that may overcome drawbacks of current approaches and personalize musculoskeletal tissue evaluation.
