In this seminar I will discuss many ways that machine learning (ML) can be used for image processing, from model fitting to image segmentation. Many approaches vary depending on the application. A broad overview using radio-pathomics as an example will be discussed.

In this seminar I will discuss many ways that machine learning (ML) can be used for image processing. I will use our own lab’s research in radio-pathomics, which is the combination of radiology imaging and digitized pathology, to demonstrate many angles for including ML during the data analysis and interpretation of the fundings. Approaches covered will include traditional ML, as well as deep learning methods for model fitting, pattern recognition, and image segmentation.
