Synopsis

Keywords: Body: Breast, Education Committee: Clinical MRI

This talk will focus on the assessment of NAT response with breast MRI-derived biomarkers, and the use of minimally invasive therapies in breast cancer, their current indications and future perspectives.

Breast cancer is a heterogeneous disease nowadays, with different biological subtypes and a variety of treatment options aimed at achieving the best outcome in terms of response to therapy and prognosis. In recent years breast MRI has evolved considerably, and multi-parametric studies can highlight clinical-pathological features through the evaluation of imaging biomarkers, in order to tailor therapeutic strategies and predict treatment outcomes. Moreover, several new modalities have been introduced in the last decades in order to provide additional therapeutic options, such as radiofrequency, high-intensityfocused ultrasound, and cryoablation techniques.
