Diffusion Within the Tumor Microenvironment

Synopsis
This lecture will explain the link between tumor microstructure and the different parameters that we can observe with diffusion MRI.
The purpose of the talk is to explain the link between tumor microstructure and what we can observe with diffusion MRI. This talk will cover the following areas:
- Diffusion-weighted imaging – a recap
- The apparent diffusion coefficient and tumor cellularity
- Tumor heterogeneity, microscopic anisotropy and its relation to the diffusional kurtosis
- Time-dependent diffusion in tumors
- Microstructure modeling of tumor diffusion
The talk will follow the ideas presented in Nilsson et al, 2018.
