Synopsis

Advances in MRI technology have enabled improvements in the Value-based MRI for Musculoskeletal Application. We will discuss technology improvements and ways that these changes can enable more value to be created from an MRI examination of the musculoskeletal system.

Improvements in speed and resolution in MRI have led to changes in standard approaches to musculoskeletal MR imaging. Reconstruction based on AI algorithms have further accelerated these changes. Faster exams open up the potential for rapid protocols for routine applications and tailored protocols that provide more clinical information in certain cases. In this talk we will discuss the use of these new MR approaches in specific musculoskeletal applications, with the aim of creating more value for the imaging exam either by improving information output, imaging faster allowing more throughput and access, or use of novel lower cost systems. The changes discussed here may allow for "walk-in" musculoskeletal MRI to become a reality.
