Synopsis

A review of sodium MRI: techniques, challenges and applications.

In this presentation, I will give an overview of sodium (23Na) MRI, of its challenges and clinical applications. Sodium MRI has potential to provide new metabolic information in vivo in a non-invasive and quantitative manner as a supplement to structural proton (1H) MRI, in order to help diagnose and prognose diseases more accurately, but also help monitor early metabolic effects of therapies.
