This educational lecture covers the advantages and pitfalls of Magnetic Resonance Spectroscopy at high magnetic field.

Learning goals:

• understand the challenges of high field MRS.
• understand the advantage that x-nuclei have over 1H at high magnetic field.

This educational lecture covers the advantages and pitfalls of Magnetic Resonance Spectroscopy at high magnetic field. Basic knowledge of MRS is assumed. I will explain the impact of high magnetic field on MRS-data and data quality, considering B0 and B1 effects. Examples of 1H and X-nuclei MRS in clinical research studies are shown.
