Synopsis

This workshop focuses on the synergies between MICCAI and ISMRM, and this presentation reviews five prominent topics of interest to the ISMRM community, that were presented at the most recent MICCAI meeting, held in Shen Zhen China in October 2019.

The Society for Medical Image Computing and Computer Assisted Intervention (The MICCAI Society) dates from the early 1990s when three separate international conferences relating to medical image analysis, image processing, and image-guided intervention, evolved into a single MICCAI conference in 1998. Since 2004 the annual meeting has been coordinated by the MICCAI Society.

Topics to be discussed include Detection and Correction of Cardiac MRI Motion Artefacts during Reconstruction from k-space; Convolutional Neural Networks for Liver Segmentation in Magnetic Resonance Imaging; Augmented Reality Assistance for Minimally Invasive Surgery using a Head-Mounted Display; Detection of epileptogenic brain malformations using Bayesian neural networks; and the use of Generative adversarial network for segmentation of motion affected neonatal brain images from MRI
