Synopsis
A presentation on the theory, implementations, clinical applications, and current challenges of T2,
T2*, and T1rho mapping of the heart.
Target Audience
This
presentation is aimed at engineers, physicians, and physicists that would like
to learn more about the theory, implementations, and clinical applications of T2, T2*, and T1rho mapping of
the heart.Objectives
After this presentation, the audience should have an
understanding of:
- The origin of the T2, T2*, and T1rho relaxation
times and their contrasts
- The biological relevance of each of the
relaxation times
- The pulse sequences that can be used to map the
relaxation times
- Appropriate clinical applications of these
mapping techniques
- Current challenges for these mapping techniques,
such as acquisition time, spatial coverage, precision, standardization, demonstrating improved diagnostics, and
causative links Acknowledgements
