Existing prostate cancer imaging and processing techniques are constantly improving, while new ones are being developed. This talk will focus on the potential benefits of four techniques: hybrid multidimensional MR imaging, luminal water imaging, multi-shot diffusion-weighted imaging, and restriction spectrum imaging.
MRI has revolutionized the management of men with suspected or known prostate cancer, and PI-RADS thrusted it to notoriety and broad incorporation into practices throughout the world. To a great extent, this is the result of standardization of image interpretation, but also acquisition. The guidelines recommend the utilization of a specific protocol, which is fairly simple and available at the vast majority of imaging platforms.
However, technology continuous to advance. Existing imaging and processing techniques are constantly improving, while new ones are being developed.
As T2-weighted and diffusion-weighted imaging are the crucial sequences of a multiparametric prostate MRI protocol, this talk will focus on four techniques:
- Hybrid multidimensional MR imaging
- Luminal water imaging
- Multi-shot diffusion-weighted imaging
- Restriction spectrum imaging
At the end of this talk attendees will understand the potential applications of these techniques to identify and characterize prostate cancer.
