Synopsis

Imaging of Myocardial Perfusion & Scar

TARGET AUDIENCE

Clinicians and researchers interested in cardiac MRI myocardial perfusion and scar imaging will benefit from this lecture.

LEARNING OBJECTIVES

At the end of this presentation, participants will be able to:

  • Discuss the clinical role of perfusion and scar imaging
  • Describe acquisition and analysis approaches for perfusion and scar imaging
  • Identify findings of common diseases on perfusion and scar imaging

PURPOSE

The purpose of this presentation is to discuss the clinical role, imaging acquisition and analysis techniques and expected findings related to cardiac MRI myocardial perfusion and scar imaging.

SUMMARY

Contrast material–enhanced myocardial perfusion and scar imaging using cardiac MRI is routinely used in clinical practice, providing important diagnostic and prognostic information. Advantages over other modalities include high spatial resolution and absence of ionizing radiation. This lecture will discuss technical limitations and challenges and practical analysis approaches.
