Synopsis

This talk will emphasize the weaknesses of the Prostate Imaging Reporting and Data system, highlight areas of potential improvement, and discuss ways of dealing with commonly encountered limitations of the guideline in "real-life" scenarios

It has been 6 years since the Prostate Imaging Reporting and Data system (PI-RADS) was introduced in 2012; 2 versions have been published and the document is currently undergoing an additional update. While there is no doubt PI-RADS has transformed prostate MRI, it was acknowledge from the start it was work in progress and thus amenable to continued improvements. This talk will emphasize the weaknesses of PI-RADS, highlight areas of potential refinement, and discuss ways of dealing with commonly encountered limitations of the guideline in "real-life" scenarios.
