1. TARGET AUDIENCE: This talk is of interest for early stage researchers in the bio-medical field.

2. OUTCOME/OBJECTIVES: During this lecture, attendees will learn about the basic principles of LipoCEST agents. In particular they will learn the mechanism of action of paramagnetic shift reagents. The effect of osmotic stress on the liposomal shape will be addressed and shrunked LipoCEST described. Moreover, cellular systems as LipoCEST agents will be presented. Some applications will also be discussed.

3. PURPOSE: Learning about the main determinants of the LipoCEST contrast properties.

4. RESULTS: The attendees will be made aware of the main principles that underlie the efficiency and potential applications of LipoCEST systems.
