In this historical talk, I will try to cover how some of the mainstay "product" pulse sequences such as Fast gradient echo, Turbo/Fast spin echo and balanced steady state free precession (more popularly known as True FISP) came to be products on commercial MRI platforms like GE, Siemens and Philips in the and late 80s and 90s until about 10 years ago. Some history on development in vendor research facilities vs. or licensing from an academic site will also be touched upon.
