Synopsis
The purpose of this course is to introduce the audience to image
artifacts that may occur when using MRI, to explain what causes these
artifacts, and to offer some ways to mitigate these artifacts. The course
information will be presented in a light hearted “game show” format where
“contestants” will be asked to answer a series of questions about the artifacts
being presented. Audience participation through the audience response system
will be encouraged. Following these short “game show” segments, experts in the
field will offer brief presentations discussing the appearance of the
artifacts, the physics causing the artifacts and practical methods to avoid or
minimize them.Highlights
- Artifacts to defy the imagination!
- Explanations from an all-star cast of artifact experts!
- Prizes!
Target Audience
Anyone wanting to expand their ability to identify and correct
artifacts encountered in MRI.
Objectives
Upon completion of this course, participants should be able to:
- Classify and evaluate principle categories of artifacts
- Identify sources of commonly encountered artifacts and implement
methods to avoid them, and
- Recommend further tests for problem solving and troubleshooting
artifacts.
